Dans cette série intitulée “Syncrétisme”, Cláudia Camposs expose des peintures et collages, élaborés avec des éléments « empruntés » aux traditions religieuses catholiques, africaines et indigènes.

Le syncrétisme, terme de l'analyse historique et sociologique des religions, désigne les pratiques religieuses provenant d'interactions entre plusieurs religions.

In this series entitled « Syncretism » Cláudia CAMPOSS exposes paintings and collages, produced with elements borrowed from the catholic, African and native religions.

For years, Cláudia has been trying to show the indignation she feels when confronted to the contempt that contemporary civilization shows for the Brazilian natives. Beginning with the colonizers, it was sustained by the Jesuits and the other various religious orders.  The evangelization was fed, for a long time, by the conflictive interests of the landlords and the prospectors of territories, and then it was maintained by the successive governments.

 After various exhibitions and conferences in France, Claudia has succeeded in moving a group of people and with them she created Terre Indigène (Native Land), an association that fights for the rehabilitation and preservation of the native culture and defends its rights.
